Once again, Madrid organized for all its citizens and visitors a summer full of Events located in the most emblematic places of the city, including Los Veranos de la Villa festival. Specifically, Los Jardines de Sabatini were the scenario of a wide variety of shows, of different artistic genres, from 6 July to 31 August.
In 9 August 2013, Tablao Cordobes Flamenco Barcelona brought its show to “Los Veranos de la Villa” festival, in Madrid, with great success. With the show “With Carmen Amaya in the memory”, also called “Carmen, Carmen, Carmen”, it paid tribute to one of the greatest dancers ever born from flamenco Barcelona, the Catalan Carmen Amaya.
Tablao Cordobes Flamenco Barcelona presented its show within Los veranos de la villa festival at the Jardines Sabatini, in Madrid, with great welcome of audience and critics, it also shared poster with some of the most distinguished leading figures of the music world such as Elvis Costello, Diana Krall, Plácido Domingo, José Mercé...
“Los Veranos de la Villa” festival was distributed in different stages. One of them, situated at Circo Price, welcomed artists like Diego “El Cigala”, Soleá Morente, Concha Buika or The Original Blues Brothers Band, who performed a great show. The other stage of the festival, placed at Los Jardines Sabatini, was more focused on flamenco Barcelona, dancing, theatre and zarzuela. It started with ORCAM actuations with the Concierto de Aranjuez and it also participated Estrella Morente, Raimundo Amador, Eva la Yerbabuena, Arcángel, José Mercé and Tomatito. And of course, it also included Tablao Cordobes Flamenco Barcelona production, the flamenco Barcelona show “Carmen, Carmen, Carmen”.
Los Veranos de la Villa festival counted on Pastora Galvan as guest artist. The show also included in its line up flamenco Barcelona artists of the stature of Karime Amaya, niece-granddaughter of Carmen Amaya, who has performed in Tablao Cordobes Flamenco Barcelona in several ocasions, David Cerreduela, who was the guitarist of the sadly deceased Enrique Morente, or La Tana, who was signed up by the self-same Paco de Lucía, who produced her a flamenco album after listening her singing in a bar of Sevilla.
Besides, Los Veranos de la Villa festival had many different events programmed at Matadero, Teatro Price and La Plaza Mayor.
